Scam Detector

by Dale Andrews on December 14th, 2009

Over the years, I have learned not to give my reality away. My reality consists of what I know and experience. It includes what I understand. It is open to further study — and that takes a lot of work. It would be easier just to follow the lead of others and let them make all of life’s decisions for me. After all, it appears that is what most people do and it seems to work for them — at least for now.

The Lord has given me an amazing scam detector. I have had to exercise it to keep it strong, and it seems to be blessing me daily. I want to thank all of the Telephone and Internet sales people for helping strengthen this virtue — that is progressively saving me time and money.

The basics for the scam detector rest in the life of Jesus. For example, when he said “the first will be last and the last will be first” he was making a keen paradoxical observation. There are a few billionaires in jail…the last place I would want to be. They were first for a while in finance. There are also some of the former elite living off public assistance — or worse. From the first of the line to the back of the line happens as quickly as a hyper-child turning around. From being cheered to being booed is only a matter of a slight pitch in voice tone.

I have taken Jesus’ cue (he chose the servant route). The back of the line is the place for me. From here I can see all ahead of me and learn from their mistakes. Also, if this thing goes bad I am the closest to the exit. I can assure you, this “thing” (the world that everyone lines up to serve) is going to go bad…it always does.

No one sees you at the back of the line, but you see all of them. That also helps you when it comes time to help them. You are not in their trance. Remember, they gave their reality away long ago and are marching like rats off a cliff (the “world” always takes more than it gives).

It is as easy for the poor to give their reality as it is for the middle-class or the wealthier. All you have to do is let someone else do your thinking for you. We have been “called out” so we can be more effective…to think for ourselves.
