Motives, Truth, Results

by Dale Andrews on December 24th, 2009

Sooner or later, all motives make their way to the surface. Some get there sooner than others. The same is true with truth itself. There is something about the universe that has a way of eventually exposing all lies. We humans may have many flaws, but deep within our common soul is the voice that knows all and never settles for partial truths. When ignored or buried, it simply finds other ways to become apparent.

We were designed to be wise. Wisdom examines its own motives — knowing they are mixed — but acknowledging that whole-hearted living is of a better quality than merely going along with the crowd. Many books, plays, and movies use this theme. Spiritual healing happens when we are part of watching portrayals of mythic characters finding and facing the truth that sets them free. Inside we hope to do the same.

In the end, we are unable to successfully lie to ourselves. There is a lot of really good news in that. The quality of our motives determines ultimate outcomes. Sincerity is deeper than manipulation. It has the bedrock of Ultimate Reality beneath it. The journey of life is the trip away from and back to our essential nature. It is a wonder-filled experience.

All material results are temporary. Empires rise and fall. Technologies come and go. Truth is eternal. Experiencing it is beyond any other sensation. At times it may seem uncomfortable, but in the end truth never actually ends and can never be fooled. Make friends with it. You do not want it to be your chosen enemy. There is a world of difference in that particular fork in the road.
