Life On A Ball
I sometimes wonder what the experience of Earth must be for God. The Creator made an amazing perpetual mood-changing little planet. From the big picture, there is always a sunrise or a sunset going on somewhere. The roundness of the planet creates so many different angles of dawn and dusk that it is never quite the same anywhere. There is mid-day heat and cold of night always. Since the planet revolves around the Sun at an angle, there is an added dimension — seasons. Winter sunsets are not quite like Summer ones…or Spring ones…or Fall ones.
It would be wonderful but overwhelming to us as mere humans to be able to embrace this all at once. To be everywhere at the same time equally must be quite a rush. Then again, the rush would be balanced. Serene nights and intense days equal out. Dusk and dawn are equally mysterious, but so are midday and midnight. It is snowing somewhere right now. God is just genius enough to be on very high mountains and in very deep valleys at the same time. Somewhere a mountain climber is in a white-out condition at forty below zero. Somewhere a jungle or desert guide is sweating for all he or she is worth.
If God senses physical life through us, then Deity is having quite a wide range of experiences. Deity is experiencing birth and murder simultaneously. The Eternal is working and relaxing at the same time. That Great Being is every age right now — from newborn to very old. The eyes through which that Being looks are many — from small innocent child to mature scientist. I am part of that. You are part of that. In grief, sin is experienced. In joy repentance is embraced. God seems to be the ultimate manic-depressive.
The angle of shadows change constantly on this little ball planet. With it the Major Element is feeling alive. Add all of the other planets, solar systems, and galaxies to that and you have God. Toss in the entire metaphysical world and you have the icing on the supra-cosmic cake. Who would not want to be part of this?
