Hint From Above

by Dale Andrews on October 16th, 2009

When I was a child, I began to realize that I could not take it all in. I could not experience all that was around me. There is no way to fully experience anything. All we get are nibbles and tastes. Even the most fulfilling experience is short-lived. It was (and still is) frustrating. It is impossible to fully experience anything.

It would take as many lifetimes as there have been humans to get a sense of what it is to be fully human. There is more to be seen on this little planet than anyone can ever see. Even if you could accomplish something so grand, all you have to do is look at the night sky to realize that you have not even gotten started.

It must be nice to be God — to be able to experience all things simultaneously. Then again, there is a lot of pain out there too. Maybe that is why the Creator most clearly depicted the meeting point of Character and humanity was in the person of a crucified carpenter/rabbi. There is so much joy mixed with so much pain.

The fact that we cannot take it all in is a hint from above that there is more to come. One of the formal arguments for life after death and life eternal (unlimited life quality) is just this one point: we cannot take it all in. We are being given a taste of infinite possibilities. It will take a never-ending existence to experience something eternal.

That is where I am putting my time, money and all other life bets.
