Faces of Bearcloud

by Dale Andrews on October 29th, 2010

Bearcloud has a studio in Sedona. He is a Native American artist that is more than gifted. He is one of those few individuals able to open doors of consciousness that have long been forgotten. His paintings are mystical scenes of the Desert Southwest, as seen through the eyes of a young mystic (who, by the way, spent twelve years of his life studying the mysteries of the pyramids).

After the first couple of seconds, you begin to see that the paintings are actually faces — all with stories behind them. The faces are mixtures of people, animals, and spirits. The more you look at one of his paintings, the more it draws you into his world and into greater realms almost forgotten.

Everything has a face — both outwardly and inwardly. Creation’s animals all have faces. If something sees or feeds, it has a face. With a little imagination, you can begin to see that even plants and trees have faces and character — each as unique as individual snowflakes. The differences are so subtle, but it is just those differences that make all of the difference in the world. Pay attention to the eagle’s beak or a puppy’s nose; they are both powerful tools. It is no accident that all humans (even identical twins) have great or slight facial variations. To read the face is to see the soul’s themes or where the mind has temporarily fixated (smiles and frowns). “It was written all over her face…” is more than some poetic line.

How well do you face things? Can you face up to your life history? Are you in a face-off with a problem person? How well do you face the facts? Can you save face after every choice? Ever wonder if technology is truly faceless? Can you face God? Why do we see so many faces in the night sky or in clouds? The ocean itself is but a sea of faces — all telling you the difference between a shark and a dolphin — friends and foes.

For a very few years, in the life of Jesus, God had a clearer face. It was not a final one but an eternal one. If you have the faith for it, you will continue to see the face of the Creator everywhere. There is a little bit of Bearcloud in all of us…behind our eyes…able to see the Universal Face.
