Circumstances or Surroundings?

Most people get stuck thinking about their circumstances. They worry about paying the bills and work out of an endless list of imagined limitations that have to do with age, money, status, education, gender, race, etc. They put their efforts into trying to change many things that cannot be changed. After a while, they are exhausted — spent — burned out.

Some have learned to shift from circumstances to surroundings. Surroundings consist of nature and the focus is motivated by wonder. The moment you shift from circumstances to surroundings you will feel better. Focus on the tree, the desert, the mountain, the lake or ocean outside your kitchen window. Look at the food in your refrigerator. Pet your pet. Take note of the people that might be living in the house with you.

Get out of your head and into life. There are so many things to ponder outside of your inner list of traits. Stop comparing your list to others. Life-lists were never intended by God to match. Every person on this planet that has ever been or ever will be is unique.

Ignore the sociologic category people and the people that try to get national or international circumstances to be uniform. That will never happen. They are laboring under illusion. No matter how many people share the illusion, you do not have to. Look at the sky. Notice the birds of the air and the lilies of the field. Flowers do not worry about circumstances. They bloom where they are planted and you can too.
