Agenda Clash
Have you noticed that nature and politics are seldom on the same page? They have different agendas. Social controls eventually cave into nature. The harder agencies try to control people, the more out of control they become. The war on drugs was lost decades ago. Advanced birth control methods paralleled the rise in teen pregnancy. People want population control. Nature wants babies. Guess which agenda wins!
It is difficult to admit that we do not control the world. We are just pretty much riding around on it. About the time we think we have an original creation, we find a catalogue of items just like ours. The same is true with thought. Our “original” ideas can be traced back, in principle, for thousands of years. Solomon was right, “There is nothing new under the sun.”
We humans are busy little creatures. For better or worse, our hands build and destroy. The more concrete we pour and the more landfills we fill, the more we think it all begins and ends with us alone. News flash: it is not about us. The planet was apparently here eons before we arrived. God, nature, the universe — whatever is greater has an agenda we seem to try our best to ignore. We seldom seek out the tools of discernment to see what it might be. After all we are too busy “having” a life (like you could capture any of this).
I know what we are doing on this planet, but what I cannot seem to figure out is what we are supposed to be doing. Maybe it is all embedded in our DNA, and we really are not making any significant choices. Maybe we can’t. We occasionally dig up the remains of earlier civilizations. Did they fulfill some sort of Divine Purpose or is this all about time and chance?
Reality has its agenda. I have my own. There is a haunting feeling that I need to get to know the greater reality before it clashes with mine.
